Financial Institutions
Our expertise
Clients buying our Comprehensive Crime cover include major investment banks, global groups and regional banks, along with a range of specialist financial service firms.
The Crime policy will cover the company for theft of their assets (money, securities, stock etc) from both employees and external parties. These policies are underwritten on a broad direct financial loss basis with the inclusion of Computer Crime.
Our Professional Indemnity business is more niche-focused. We underwrite investment managers, hedge funds (outside the US), stockbrokers and mid-size investment banks.
Directors and Officers Liability is underwritten in support of our Comprehensive Crime and Professional Indemnity accounts. We would normally write this class as part of a combined package.
Our Non Banks portfolio focuses on Crime insurance for all types of Fortune 500 companies.
US capability
Our approach is principally focused towards regional banks and smaller mid-cap institutions operating a comparable risk-centric strategy to our own.
Highlights of the cover include:
- Investment banks - Crime insurance
- Mid-size investment banks - Errors and Omissions insurance
- Business solutions providers - Errors and Omissions insurance
- Broker/dealers with investment banking exposures - Errors and Omissions insurance.
Rest of the world
In the UK & Ireland, through regional brokers, we underwrite a broad range of cover (Crime, PI, D&O) for SME type FI's inc stockbrokers, funds managers, hedgefunds etc.
We are recognized as one of the market leaders in Asia-Pacific, Southern Africa, Scandinavia, and Central and Eastern Europe. Our underwriters have developed
specialized business delivery systems for SMEs in the UK. Cover can follow the London market approach or a more defined 100% model similar to our US offerings.
Highlights of the cover include:
- Infill programmes for several Western European banks' overseas subsidiaries
- Regulatory-compliant insurance programmes for major Asian banks
- Establishing a unique position as the principal underwriters for Russian banks and assisting in their risk management processes.
Our underwriters have established different delivery channels from the traditional London market approach and will look to develop this further as demand dictates.
